AETHER

What the dark shows you when you finally look up.

A caregiver who never puts her phone down wakes in a lightless void, where human shapes strain toward one burning light. She has a dying battery, a way out she can't see, and a fire back home she doesn't yet know she started.

NAKKEN

Something in the water learned to sound like someone you love.

We're holding the synopsis back on this one. What we'll say: it is the film in the anthology built to be heard, and we'd rather you met it in a dark room with the door shut than read about it here.

Nose IV / Smell

MOUSE

The blanket still smells like her.

A father's daughter has been missing for years. Her blanket is the last piece of her that still carries a scent, and every breath of it brings her back for a second. Then the blanket gets washed.

Support the anthology

Film one was paid for by people we'd never met.

Quick & Painless was funded on Kickstarter and shot over four days. Four films are written and ready to go the same way. Backing one is the fastest way to get it in front of a camera.

Where it came from

Horror Film Roulette

Spin the wheel. You get a sense. You have four weeks to make a five-minute horror film about it, and $2,000 on the table for whoever does it best.

That's the whole rule set, and it's why this anthology exists. Constraints are cheaper than money and they work faster.

We'll email you when a film is finished.

Not before. Not weekly. Not ever about anything else.

You're on the list.

Next word arrives when Quick & Painless locks.
